Nine LaLiga fixtures and six Europa League openers from Tuesday to Thursday. Elche host Real Madrid and the Pleno al 15 is at La Rosaleda.
Spain's Quiniela pools coupon has taken a shape this week that it has not worn all season. Matchday 7 pairs nine LaLiga fixtures with six Europa League openers, spread across three nights from Tuesday 15 to Thursday 17 September 2026. There is not a single Segunda game on it, and not a single Liga F game either. Last week's coupon was entirely domestic; this one throws the doors open to Glasgow, Milan, Brussels and Nicosia. The full fixture list, kick-off times and prediction window are on the matchday 7 page for the 2026-27 season.
The coupon opens on Tuesday at 19:00 CEST with Rayo Vallecano against Espanyol and does not close until late on Thursday night in Malaga. Three straight evenings of football, with a domestic block up front and a European block behind it. Here are the fifteen games in the official coupon order:
| No. | Fixture | Day and time |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Rayo Vallecano - Espanyol | Tuesday 19:00 |
| 2 | Alaves - Valencia | Tuesday 20:00 |
| 3 | Elche - Real Madrid | Tuesday 21:30 |
| 4 | Atletico - Osasuna | Wednesday 19:00 |
| 5 | Deportivo - Sevilla | Wednesday 19:00 |
| 6 | Barcelona - Racing | Wednesday 21:30 |
| 7 | Levante - Athletic | Wednesday 21:30 |
| 8 | Betis - Getafe | Thursday 19:00 |
| 9 | Omonia - Celta | Wednesday 18:45 |
| 10 | Milan - Benfica | Wednesday 21:00 |
| 11 | Anderlecht - Lyon | Wednesday 21:00 |
| 12 | Celtic - Ferencvaros | Thursday 21:00 |
| 13 | Viktoria Plzen - Union SG | Thursday 21:00 |
| 14 | Real Sociedad - Bournemouth | Thursday 21:00 |
| 15 | Malaga - Villarreal (Pleno al 15) | Thursday 21:30 |
It is worth studying that schedule before you fill anything in. The first three games are played on Tuesday, when there is no European form to go on at all. Fixtures four to eleven are bunched onto Wednesday, and the final four land on Thursday. The spread matters, because a Tuesday result is common knowledge by Thursday night, while your coupon has been locked for more than 48 hours by then.

The 2026-27 Europa League league phase kicks off on Wednesday 16 September, and Spain's state lottery operator has dropped six of those opening fixtures straight onto the Quiniela. It is the first time this season the Europa League has appeared on the coupon, and it arrives with two Spanish sides involved:
Six European ties out of fifteen is close to half the coupon, and it changes the maths completely. In LaLiga you have six matchdays of evidence: you know who is in form, who is injured, and how each side behaves at home. On the opening night of a European league phase you have none of that. These are teams that have not faced each other, with squads reshaped over the summer, and not one competitive data point in the competition itself.
When does the matchday 7 Quiniela close? The coupon closes before the first game kicks off, at 19:00 CEST on Tuesday 15 September, when Rayo Vallecano host Espanyol. After that no predictions can be changed, even though the last fixture is not played until Thursday night.
The striking thing about matchday 7 is not that it contains European football. It is the contrast with the two weeks either side of it. In a fortnight the coupon has changed shape three times, and each version demanded a different approach:
| Matchday | Coupon make-up | Profile |
|---|---|---|
| 5 | 15 European fixtures | Entirely international |
| 6 | 8 LaLiga, 3 Segunda, 4 Liga F | Entirely domestic |
| 7 | 9 LaLiga, 6 Europa League | Mixed |
Matchday 5 was European from top to bottom, timed to the Champions League's opening week. Matchday 6, the one being played this weekend, swung back to Spanish football with Segunda fixtures and four Liga F games, the women's top flight having joined the Quiniela for the first time this season. Matchday 7 now blends the two. Anyone playing the same way every week is going to feel out of their depth at least one week in three. You can compare the whole run in the 2026-27 season archive.
Game three on the coupon is the one selling the newspapers. Real Madrid travel to the Martinez Valero on Tuesday at 21:30, three days after putting four past Rayo Vallecano at the Bernabeu. That 4-1 win featured a Kylian Mbappe double, a penalty on 14 minutes and a second in stoppage time, with Alvaro Carreras and Jude Bellingham also on the scoresheet and Sergio Camello replying for Rayo. Madrid arrive in ferocious attacking form at a ground that has never been a comfortable trip.
The domestic block also carries three names that were not in the top flight last season: Deportivo, Racing Santander and Malaga, all three newly promoted. The fact that Barcelona vs Racing and Deportivo vs Sevilla are league fixtures rather than cup ties is exactly the sort of detail that trips up anyone filling in the coupon on autopilot.
This week's Pleno al 15, the bonus fixture that carries the biggest prize pool, is Malaga against Villarreal on Thursday at 21:30. La Rosaleda has top-flight football again after years away, and it gets to close the entire matchday. Remember that the Pleno al 15 is not a 1, X or 2 pick: you have to call the exact number of goals each side scores, choosing between 0, 1, 2 and M for three or more.
Which game is the matchday 7 Pleno al 15? Malaga vs Villarreal, played on Thursday 17 September at 21:30 CEST at La Rosaleda. It is fixture number 15 on the coupon and the last match of the entire matchday.
There is no magic formula, but there is a sensible order of operations for a hybrid matchday like this one:
One practical warning: with three promoted clubs now in the top flight, several pairings this week look like cup draws and simply are not. If you want the background on who came up, we covered Racing, Depor and Malaga's return to LaLiga.
An oddity of a matchday like this one is a good deal more fun when you have someone to argue with about it. If you fancy it, quiniPrats lets you set up a prediction league with friends in a couple of minutes: everyone fills in their own matchday 7 coupon and the table updates itself as the results come in from Tuesday through to Thursday. No pressure and no money involved, just the question of who reads a difficult coupon best.
Put what you've learned into practice and prove who knows football best.
