The coupon is settled on Thursday: Ronaldo quits Portugal's camp before Denmark v Portugal, Xavi's Netherlands visit leaders Greece and Klopp's Germany are still winless.
Quiniela Jornada 10 is only half finished. Eight of the sixteen matches on Spain's football pools coupon were played on Tuesday, including the Pleno al 15 tie-breaker (Spain 4-1 Croatia), but the other seven kick off today, Thursday 1 October, and they come loaded with storylines: Portugal heading to Copenhagen without Cristiano Ronaldo, a Netherlands side coached by Xavi visiting surprise group leaders Greece, and a Germany team that has yet to win under Jürgen Klopp. If your coupon is already in, this is what is left to sweat over. You can follow every result live on the Jornada 10 page.
The first half of the coupon was heavy on away wins and light on draws. Here is how the matches already played finished:
| No. | Match | Score | Sign |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Luxembourg - Iceland | 0-3 | 2 |
| 2 | Slovakia - Kazakhstan | 2-1 | 1 |
| 3 | Czechia - England | 0-2 | 2 |
| 4 | Slovenia - North Macedonia | 2-0 | 1 |
| 5 | Bulgaria - Estonia | 0-0 | X |
| 6 | San Marino - Albania | 0-3 | 2 |
| 7 | Scotland - Switzerland | 0-3 | 2 |
| P15 | Spain - Croatia | 4-1 | M-1 |
Four away wins out of seven is unusual, and Switzerland's 3-0 win in Scotland was probably the result that wrecked the most coupons. The Pleno al 15 had a sting in its tail too: with Spain scoring four, the winning box was M (three or more) rather than the 2 or 3 that plenty of people picked. We broke that fixture down in our Spain v Croatia preview.
When will the Jornada 10 prize breakdown be known? Once the last match on the coupon finishes, on Thursday 1 October in the evening. Until then every prize tier reads zero. According to Eduardo Losilla, total stakes for the round came to €728,881.50, with no rollover jackpot.
The biggest story of the week isn't a scoreline. Cristiano Ronaldo walked out of Portugal's camp in Copenhagen on Wednesday and will not play at the Parken tonight. He spent all ninety minutes on the bench in the win over Norway in Oslo (2-1, with João Félix and Gonçalo Ramos on target and Erling Haaland replying), despite warming up during the second half, and then missed three training sessions in a row.

Head coach Jorge Jesus said at his press conference that he had told Ronaldo he might not start against Norway or Denmark because of the fixture load. What lit the fuse was his remark that any player left warming up for half an hour without coming on would feel frustrated, whether his name was Cristiano or Pelé.
Ronaldo confirmed his departure on social media, wished his team-mates luck and promised to explain his reasons to the Portuguese public when the time is right. For your coupon, the key point is that Portugal top League A Group 4 with a perfect record (1-0 against Wales, then the win in Oslo), and they have already shown they can win without him. Denmark lost 3-2 in Oslo to a Haaland double before bouncing back with a 2-0 win over Wales in Copenhagen, a game that cost them the injured Patrick Dorgu.
| Group A4 | Pts | Results |
|---|---|---|
| Portugal | 6 | 1-0 v Wales · Norway 1-2 Portugal |
| Denmark | 3 | Norway 3-2 Denmark · 2-0 v Wales |
| Norway | 3 | 3-2 v Denmark · 1-2 v Portugal |
| Wales | 0 | Two defeats |
The same group also gives us Wales v Norway, match 12 on the coupon. Wales are bottom without a point, and Norway need a win to keep pace with Portugal.
Match 9 pits the top two in League A Group 2 against each other at the Toumba Stadium in Thessaloniki. Ivan Jovanović's Greece have six points out of six: a 2-1 win over Serbia sealed by Anastasios Douvikas in the 94th minute, followed by the first victory in the country's history over Germany, 1-0 in Augsburg thanks to Dimitris Kourbelis in the 74th minute.
Standing in their way are Xavi Hernández's Netherlands. The former Barcelona midfielder replaced Ronald Koeman in August on a deal running to the 2030 World Cup, and he is unbeaten so far: a 1-1 draw with Germany in Amsterdam, rescued by Cody Gakpo in stoppage time, and a 2-1 win in Belgrade with Mexx Meerdink scoring both. He will be without Gakpo, injured in Serbia, and Brian Brobbey in Thessaloniki.
Match 10 is in Munich, and it carries more pressure than the fixture suggests. Germany have one point from two games under Jürgen Klopp: the 1-1 in Amsterdam, where Felix Nmecha had put them ahead, and the home defeat by Greece in Augsburg. Serbia are in worse shape still, bottom with no points after losing to both Greece and the Netherlands. On the eve of the game Klopp asked for patience and promised to build a side capable of standing up to anyone.
| No. | Match | Kick-off (CEST) | Storyline |
|---|---|---|---|
| 8 | Azerbaijan - Liechtenstein | 18:00 | League D |
| 9 | Greece - Netherlands | 20:45 | First v second |
| 10 | Germany - Serbia | 20:45 | Klopp yet to win |
| 11 | Rep. of Ireland - Austria | 20:45 | Austria on maximum points |
| 12 | Wales - Norway | 20:45 | Wales bottom |
| 13 | Malta - Gibraltar | 20:45 | League D |
| 14 | Denmark - Portugal | 20:45 | Portugal without Ronaldo |
In Dublin, Austria arrive top of their League B group after back-to-back 3-1 wins over Israel and Kosovo, while the Republic of Ireland have three points from a 3-0 win over Israel. The Malta and Azerbaijan games belong to League D, the tournament's lowest tier.
And as soon as this round is done, the next one starts: the Jornada 11 coupon has no Primera División games at all, and its Pleno al 15 is Spain v Czechia in Oviedo on Saturday.
