La Quiniela prices: Spanish football pools costs explained

One La Quiniela bet costs €0.75 with a €1.50 minimum. What doubles, triples and reduced systems cost, and how many combinations the Spanish pools has.

La Quiniela is Spain's state-run football pools, operated by SELAE (Loterías y Apuestas del Estado). Each week's coupon lists 15 matches: for the first 14 you pick 1 (home win), X (draw) or 2 (away win), and the 15th, the Pleno al 15, asks for the number of goals each team scores (0, 1, 2 or M for three or more). How much a La Quiniela ticket costs

Under SELAE's pools rules (in force since the 2017-18 season and still current; the official data for matchday 15 of 2026-27 lists the same price), one bet, a single column of 14 picks plus the Pleno al 15, costs €0.75, and the minimum is two bets, so the cheapest ticket is €1.50. Marking a double (two outcomes for one match) doubles the number of bets; a triple (all three outcomes) triples it.

Reduced systems (reducidas) play only a fixed selection of those columns: SELAE's six official reductions range from 9 bets (€6.75) for 4 triples to 132 bets (€99.00) for 11 doubles. They are much cheaper, but you can get every pick you covered right and still miss the winning column.

How many combinations does the Spanish football pools have?

With three outcomes per match, the 14 matches give 3 to the power of 14 = 4,782,969 combinations, which would cost €3,587,226.75 to cover at €0.75 each. Add the 16 ways to call the Pleno al 15 and there are 76,527,504. The rules also cap how many doubles and triples a single ticket can carry, so nobody can buy every column. SELAE sends 55% of the money staked back as prizes.
